Rise, The Witcher, Rise

Most of the time, I don’t write music to lyrics. My creative process usually begins with atmosphere and melody. Rise, The Witcher, Rise changed that for me in ways I never expected.

As a long-time fan of both the books and the games, I’ve always been drawn to the depth, grit, and beauty of The Witcher universe. It continues to inspire my music to this day. For this project, I wanted to weave as much lore and as many references as possible directly into the lyrics. That meant stepping out of my comfort zone and letting the words take the lead.

It wasn’t easy. At first, writing music around lines of text felt like solving a puzzle. But as I worked, the lyrics began guiding the melodies. Even as I sang them imperfectly (apologies to my poor wife!), the flow of words pulled the music into places I would never have reached on my own. With help from Sianna, the vocalist on the track, I discovered how repetition can anchor lyrics and give them a sense of familiarity. Her feedback was invaluable, and I couldn’t be prouder of the final result.
